Italy offers superb beauty coupled with very good potential for capital growth on property investments in the Italian property market. The remote region of Calabria (the toe of Italy's boot) is little-known to property investors. Most investors asume that prices are very steep all over Italy, because of its infrastructure, economic stability and history in property. Calabria offers investors the best of both worlds with the stability and beauty of a stable EU country, but with prices of an emerging market. The Italian government are now adding a lot of infrastructure to an area that has never really been the main focus of property investment. Our investors are buying beachfront property starting from as little as £34000. With airlines like Ryan air now flying to Calabria, history shows that capital growth prospects are excellent over the next few years. Unlike other emerging markets, we already know where prices are going to since we can compare similar properties with similar infrastructure and transport links in other parts of Italy, which not only makes calabria a low risk investment but also underlines why we think Calabria is a TRUE emerging market. Area Information - Calabria The remote and poor region of Calabria (the toe of Italy's boot) is little-known to tourists and property investors. Calabria offers a glimpse of a different Italy, as well as memories of more illustrious times some 2000 years ago. Calabria was part of Magna Graecia, the site of rich and powerful Greek colonies, recorded by artefacts such as the famous Riace bronze statues, recovered from the sea and now in the Museo Nazionale of Reggio di Calabria. The Calabria area is characterized by mountains full of remote villages with much rural charm and history as dwellings of the local Mafia. The region's larger towns are mostly modern, however the small villages are far more interesting to investigate and return to a different way of life, much lost in modern citys. Calabria's regional capital is Catanzar. The region has some interesting cultural phenomena such as its inclusion of some Greek speaking villages, and an Albanian community dating back 500 years. Calabria has 780km of coast, facing onto two seas, the Tyrrhenian and the Ionian. Country Information - Italy Italy is in the Mediterranean section of Europe, bordering with France in the north-west, Switzerland and Austria in the north and Slovenia in the north-east. The peninsula is surrounded by the Ligurian Sea, the Sardinian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea in the west, the Sicilian Sea and the Ionian Sea in the south and the Adriatic Sea in the east. There is a great deal of variety in the landscape in Italy, although it is characterized predominantly by two mountain chains: the Alps and the Apennines. The former extends over 600 miles from east to west. It consists of great massifs in the western sector, with peaks rising to over 14,000 feet, including Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc), Monte Rosa and Cervino (the Matterhorn). The the chain is lower in the eastern sector, although the mountains, the Dolomites, are still of extraordinary beauty. The Developments The Deveopments are spread accross the Toe of Italy.
